Abstract
An Erosion Management Study for Tanilba Bay foreshore was undertaken to identify the causes of erosion and prepare a Management Plan. A site inspection was undertaken to assess the erosion problem physically and determine its causes. Photogrammetry was used for the determination of historical trends in shoreline movement and for the assessment of erosion processes and beach stability. Shoreline erosion in earlier years was found to be more than that in recent years. Disruption of littoral flow by strong storm water drain and creek flows was identified to be the cause for local erosion in the middle and eastern end of the bay and wave reflection by vertical walls at the western end of the bay. A number of appropriate Management Options were proposed.
