The most important metrical unit is syllable in Korean(poem). And syllable number should be measured in order to consider meter of korean. So it is no doubt korean is syllabic metric type. But it should be noted that Korean is different from Japanese or French which has fixed syllable numbers in line. Suggesting there is two types in syllabic meter according to syllabicity. In metric typology, syllabic meter includes fixed syllabic meter: measured fixed syllable numble in line such as in Japanese, and unfixed syllabic meter: cannot measured fixed syllable numble in line but diverse syllable number within limitation such as in Korean. As a conclusion, Korean is unfixed syllabic metrical type.
