Abstract
In this study, the 5'-end fragments of 16S rDNA genes were amplified from 10 nontuberculous mycobacteria(NTM) isolated from cattle by PCR and sequenced. The NTM sequences were compared with the published 16S rDNA sequences and classified as follows: one for M.gilvum, one for M.fortuitum, two for M.vaccae and four for M.neoaurum 4,and the rest 2 isolates were similar to certain mycobacterial species. The importance of NTM infection in cattle should be evaluated and further study on its pathogenicity to humans and animals.
