Abstract

Field evaluation of certain insecticides against podfly, Melanagromyza obtusa in long duration pigeonpea was carried out during kharif 2009–10 and 2010–11. The efficacy of different insecticides in reducing the damage of podfly was found in order of Spinosad > Indoxocarb > Monocrotophos > Dimethoate > Endosulfon > NSKE 5% > Beauveria bassiana. Average seed yield ranged from 978 kg/ha in B. bassiana to 1596 kg/ha in spinosad as compared to 763 kg/ha in control.
