Abstract
The relative toxicity of four proprietary formulations of insecticides were evaluated against the last nymphal instars and adults of Dysdercus Koenigii Fabr. in the laboratory. On the basis of LC50 values, imidacloprid, methomyl and phosphamidon were 1245.08, 1.73 and 1.06 times more toxic than dimethoate against nymphs and 949.59, 1.69 and 1.34 times more toxic against adults of red cotton bug, respectively. Imidacloprid was found comparatively much more toxic than conventional insecticides viz. methomyl, phosphamidon and dimethoate for managing sucking pests.
