Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective transmission scheme to realizing high-rate data transmission thanks to its intrinsic robustness to multi-path fading, high spectral efficiency, and its characteristic of combating inter symbol interference(ISI). However, the OFDM system has the drawback of high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) Constant envelope OFDM (CE-OFDM) modulates the OFDM signal on the phase, and solves the high PAPR problem of OFDM. Based on theory analysis and simulation in different channels, we obtain the PAPR performance of three block transmission techniques containing OFDM, CE-OFDM and single carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). The simulation result indicated that CE-OFDM is an impactful modulation which PAPR can be declined to 0dB.
