Open publisher page 10 citations

Abstract

Bald tires have lower skid resistance compared to tires with full tread depth. As could be expected tires with very low tread depths are reported to be more frequently involved in wet weather accidents. An overview of the legal requirements for the minimum value of the tread depth in several countries is given for car as well as truck and bus tires. /Author/
