Abstract
Objective:To explore the association of angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE)gene polymorphism with ACE serum level and susceptibility of type 2 diabetes.Methods:287 type 2 diabetes(T2D)patients and 307 healthy individuals were enrolled in the study, and divided into T2D group and control group. The polymerase chain reaction(PCR)was applied to detect polymorphism of Alu repeated sequence insertion/deletion(I/D)in ACE gene, the activity of ACE and lipid level were detected by automatic biochemical ana-lyzer,and the SPSS10.0 software was applied to analyze the relationship between frequencies of ACE genotypes and its activity, lipid level and the occurrence of T2D.Results:There was no difference in I/D polymorphism of ACE gene between the T2D group(DD:13.36%,ID:45.93%,II:40.72%)and control group(DD:13.24%,ID:43.90%,II:42.86%).There was significant difference of ACE activity between T2D patients with different genotypes(P0.01).There was significant difference of HDL level between II and DD genotype in group of T2D.Conclusion:The DD genotype or D allele of ACE gene was related with its activity and the HDL level, however ACE I/D polymorphism wasn't the risk of the occurrence of T2D.
