Abstract
Mungbean blight incited by Macrophomina phaseolina is one the serious disease inflicting heavy losses. Seven fungicides were evaluated (In-vitro and in-vivo) against Macrophomina blight. All the test fungicides were found effective against the test pathogen and were significantly superior over untreated control. In in-vitro studies all the test fungicides significantly inhibited mycelial growth of the pathogen and per cent inhibition was ranged from 71.90 to 94.18. However, fungicides Carbendazim (0.05 and 0.1%), Mancozeb (0.2%) and Thiram (0.3%) were found most effective and at par with each other. Field studies indicated that, all test fungicides significantly reduced the disease intensity with increased seed yield over unsprayed control. However, Carbendazim (0.05%) was found most effective with least disease intensity (10.67), with highest disease control (58.45%) and increase seed yield (429,67 kg/ha). This was followed by Benomyl (0.15%) and Mancozeb (0.2%) with disease intensity of 16.46 and 17.11 per cent, respectively.
