Co-existence of follicular cell adenoma and C-cell carcinoma in thyroid gland of a Wistar rat

Abstract

Co-existence of follicular cell adenoma and C-cell carcinoma in the thyroid gland of a two and half year old male Wistar rat has been reported. At necropsy, both the lobes of thyroid gland were enlarged. Microscopically, the right lobe revealed follicular cell adenoma (follicular type) while the left lobe showed C- cell carcinoma.
