Abstract
Lawyers are often unaware of the potential for risk posed by an indemnity contained in a contract and the significance of its wording in establishing the terms the organization is agreeing to. The article identifies the 10 most important mistakes made by companies asked to provide an indemnity. These mistakes include agreeing to give the indemnity and agreeing to indemnify in relation to events outside the organization's control.
