Abstract
Field experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 1998 and 1999 to assess the effect of anilofos and triclopyr on weeds in transplanted rice. Anilofos alone was not much effective on sedges and Caesulia axillaris, Echinochlofl colona, sedges and C. axillaris were controlled very effectively due to ready mix formulation of anilofos and triclopyr applied at various doses at 3, 6 or 9 DAT. Tank mix application of anilofos at 400+2, 4-D at 400 g ha−1 was very effective in reducing density of grasses, sedges, non-grasses and total weed dry matter production. All the treatments, except triclopyr at 500 g ha−1 applied alone yielded significantly more than weedy treatment. Grain yields obtained at various doses of anilofos-triclopyr applied 3, 6 or 9 DAT were similar and at par with weed-free treatment.
