Abstract
Six new combination insecticides were field evaluated along with a conventional insecticide endosulfan against the major pests of sesamum, Antigastra catalaunalis. The results revealed that all the insecticides significantly reduced (44.8–52.3%) leaf webber larval population up to two weeks as compared to control. The mean % twig, flower and pod infestation remained significantly lower with all the insecticidal sprays, the lowest being recorded with nagata, viraat and koranda. The % phyllody infestation remained significantly lower among insecticides (3.9–8.7%) as compared to control (12.0%). However, nagata and viraat showed potential over other treatments in reducing phyllody incidence.
