Abstract

This paper summarizes the uses of 1990 census data along with user experiences and recommendations for the year 2000 as reported in the case studies for large metropolitan areas presented at this conference. These case studies, which may be found in Volume 2 of the proceedings, tend to be different in terms of emphasis, which makes them all the more interesting. The case studies are from the following large metropolitan area agencies: Baltimore Metropolitan Council; Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission; Chicago Area Transportation Study, University of Illinois, and Chicago Transit Authority; Southeast Michigan Council of Governments; and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (San Francisco Bay Area).
