Abstract
The herbicide mixture sulfosulfuron 75 + metsulfuron methyl 5 WG @ 36 g a.i. ha−1 was at par with its lower dose of 32 g a.i. ha−1 resulted significantly lower weed count/m2 of both grassy and broad leaf weeds, dry matter accumulation in weeds at differnt days after sowing and also produced significantly higher number of effective tillers, grain and straw yield as compared to the rest of the treatments. Clodinafop propargyl 15 WP @ 60 g a.i. ha−1 was at par with sulfosulfuron 75 WG @ 30 g a.i. ha−1 dry matter accumulation of Metsulfuron methyl 20 WP @ 4 g a.i. ha−1 significantly reduced weed count/m2 and dry matter accumulation of broad leaf weeds at both 60 and 90 DAS. Wheat grain yield in the treatments sulfosulfuron 75 + metsulfuron methyl 5 WG @ 36 and 32 g.a.i. ha−1 were 68.83 and 67.77 q ha−1, respectively as compared to 43.37 q ha−1 in unweeded check. Residues in mixture treatment (sulfosulfuron 75 + metsulfuron methyl 5 WG) in wheat grain and soil were non-detectable.
