Abstract

The terminal configured vehicle (TCV) program was conceived to address the problems of (1) operation in the crowded terminal area airspace, and (2) integration of airborne avionics systems necessary to improve the efficiency of these operations. The program and its interaction with industry task groups are summarized, including elements of research and data collection. New technology is discussed which may be useful in implementing some defined avionics and display requirements.
