Abstract
Ready-mix formulation of mesosulfuron+iodosulfuron at 12.0+2.4 and 15.0+3.0 g ha−1 was highly effective in controlling Phalaris minor, Chenopodium album, Melilotus alba, M. indica and Medicago denticulata in wheat. Wheat chlorosis due to these herbicides (24.0+4.8 g ha−1) appeared five days after application which disappeared at later stages. Mesosulfuron+iodosulfuron at 12.0+2.4 and 15.0+3.0 g ha−1 produced grain yields similar to weed-free. Herbicide combinations were compatible with isoproturon, urea, carbendazim and endosulfan. Mesosulfuron+iodosulfuron at 15.0+3.0 and 30.0+6.0 g ha−1 applied in wheat had no residual effect on the succeeding crops of transplanted rice and urdbean. However, maize crop in succession was adversely affected due to these treatments.
