Abstract
Ten tomato varieties consisting of five determinare and five indeterminate types were grown at lbadan, Nigeria. Data were collected on fruit yield and other characters. Positive correlations were found between fruit yield and number of fruits/plant, number of flowers/plant and harvest index. In the determinate types alone, there was correlation between fruit yield and leaf area duration. It was suggested that these characters can be used as the basis of selection for improving yield.
