Abstract

Depthwise distribution of different forms of sulphur in important soil series of Vertisols in Maharashtrawqs studied. In general, total-S and organic-S deer-eased and water soluble-S and SO4-S increased with the increasing depth of the soil profile. If 10 mg SO4-S kg−1 soil is considered as critical limit, the available sulphur was sufficient in all the soil series of Vertisols of Maharashtra.
