Abstract

The hydrogen fueled engine taken normal combustion for a wide range of air/fuel ratio with the direct injection and spark ignition was developed by using hydrogen injection valva inserted tefron at its valve seat and determining the optimum injection hole configuration and injection timing. Performance characteristics of hydrogen engine for several variables as spark timing, air/fuel ratio, and engine speed were analyzed and compared with those of gasoline engine. As results, it was found that qualitative tendencies of these is similar, but quantitative characteristics as, to spark timing, torque, and cyclic variation of hydrogen engine was different from those of gasoline engine.
