Abstract

Spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus L.) under nor- mal population conditions prefer to colonize dominant (Kraft class 2), larger (taller, of bigger diameter, with thicker bark) and undamaged (except for root rot) Norway spruce trees (Picea abies Karst.).
