Abstract
Hypoid gear features that gear train including intersecting shaft and pinion offset compare with spiral bevel gear. When designing the gearbox it has an advantage of volume and pinion mounting. So, it is usually used in differential gear of vehicle, industrial gearbox in exchange of worm gear and also gearbox in need of high-speed reduction. Gear strength evaluation is a very important part when gear design. However hypoid gear study compared with cylindrical gear has the awkward strength evaluation because of its complicated tooth shape and difficult understanding. This study appears that numerical value of durability and strength on changes of hypoid gear design parameter.
