The Sari Disguise: The Adventures of a Chinglianese Poet Set Loose Upon Two Continents

Poetry is an art at whose center I have spent much of my life, so the purpose of this project, as well as the purpose of the two degrees I will have earned in its name, is to both hone my creative ability to its sharpest and broaden it so that I am not stymied when I attempt to write outside my comfort zone. This creative project has also been a personal exploration into issues of emotion, heritage. ethnicity, culture, and tradition. Poetry is the genre of writing to which I flee automatically when anything, good or bad, significant occurs in my life. This project is a testament to that tendency, and it serves also as a cross-section to show what I have learned under the tutelage of all my professors throughout my entire education because no human interaction and no piece of information is ever separated from the brain that writes the poems found herein.
