Abstract
Mitochondria observed in the electronic microscope were those isolated from the livers of non-irradiated rats and those of irradiated rats on the third and sixth day after x irradiation by a dose of 600 r, which is LD/sub 50/30// days for rats. From the observations it was concluded that detectable changes occur in the morphologic picture after irradiation that do not exclude the possibility of an intervention concerning the enzymatic activity of liver mitochondria.
