The paper tries to estimate the sources of agglomeration economies in Iasi Metropolitan Area, concluding that there is potential to benefit from the advantages generated by agglomeration economies throughout the metropolitan area, as a result of the forces of attraction and diffusion of prosperity which characterise the urban agglomeration. We support the idea that, at the level of such metropolitan alliance, the entire area can benefit from the effects of agglomeration economies, expanding the area of cluster-generating opportunities.
