Management of Mango Hopper, Idioscopus Clypealis (Homoptera: Cicadelidae) with Some Insecticides and Biopesticides

Abstract

Four treatment modules were evaluated against mango hopper Idioscopus clypealis infesting mango crop for four consecutive years. The results revealed that the treatment module consisting imidacloprid (0.005%) followed by NSKE 5% endosulfan (0.07%) was found most effective in reducing hopper population(1.55 per panicle) with maximum fruit yield 219.10 Kg/tree followed by the treatment module consisting the use of thiamethoxam (0.008%) azadirachtin (1500 ppm) ethofenprox (10%) (3.55 hoppers per panicle) with fruit yield 175.20 Kg/tree.
