Conservation of mural paintings in temples: a method of taking off and restoring mural paintings

It is actually a kind of forced action to take off and fetch the mural painting. Based on the separatability of the layered structure of mural painting mud foundation, a method has been introduced to suspend a mural painting temporarily in midair without dividing it into pieces, thus realized the better protection to the mural painting. The article introduces the technology in detail, and two mural paintings of Ming Dynasty (in Jiange Jueyuan Temple of Sichuan Province and in Lijiang Dabao Ji Temple of Yunnan Province) have been used as examples.
