Abstract

The paper deals mostly with the distribution of fireclays in Bengal and Bihar which are the main centres of the refractories industry. The paper discusses the quality of bauxite, kyanite and sillimanite required for the refractory industry. Useful data regarding the Katni bauxite, and sillimanite of Rewa and Khasi Hills are included, together with a number of analyses.
