Abstract
Two spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acarina: Tetranychidae) is a serious pest on rose grown under protected conditions. A new acaricidal molecule, bifenazate (Floramite 50 WP) was evaluated against the mite at three doses i.e., G.12, 0.18, 0.24 g/1 alongwith standard acaricide, dicofol (Kelthane) 18 EC @ 2.5 ml/1. Among the three doses of bifenazate tested, highest dose of 0.24 g/1 was highly effective against the mite, T. uriticae and recorded only 3.56% survival of the mite, over two seasons. Bifenazate was observed to be safe to indigenous predatory mite, Amblyseius sp. and non-phytotoxic to rose plants.
