Abstract

Abstract : A study of Soviet tactical aviation employment in World War II is presented as the basis for current Soviet tactical air doctrine. Evolutions in the post war Stalin era, the Khrushchev era, and the Brezhnev era show subtle changes in planned employment. Finally, available literature is reviewed to visualize current Soviet thinking on the employment of tactical air power.
