Abstract

On August 11, 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed the American Indian Religious Freedom Act which protects the American Indian’s first amendment freedom of religion including access to religious sites and possession of sacred objects. While this Act intends to secure religious rights of Native Americans, it isn’t as advantageous as it can be.
