Abstract

Twenty-five mungbean genotypes were involved in field trials to elucidate the effect of dry matter partitioning in different plant parts at various crop growth stages on seed yield. It was found that dry matter partitioned during pre flowering period has very little effect on mungbean yield, but during post flowering period higher magnitude of dry matter partitioned in leaves and stem reduces the yield. Mean temperature during flowering and twenty days after registered an association of 40% with mungbean seed yield.
