Abstract
Persistence study of quinalphos and fipronil applied at recommended and double to the recommended doseon brinjal fruits was undertaken at College farm, N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agril. University, Navsari, Gujarat. Initial amounts of quinalphos were 1.20 and 2.98 mg kg−1 on brinjal fruits which dissipated to below detectable level on 7th and 10th day, respectively. In case of fipronil, the initial amounts were 0.46 and 1.13 mg kg−1 which dissipated 76.49 and 92.04% on 7th and 10th day, respectively. The residual half life for quinalphos was 1.32 and 1.55 days, respectively while that for fipronilit was 2.55 and 2.62 days. For safety waiting period of 1.07 -2.99 and 3.0- 5.83 days for quinalphos and fipronil, respectively has been suggested.
