Abstract
JOWAR is an important food grain crop in India. In respet of area, it ranks third after rice and wheat. In 1972-73 this crop occupied 14810.7 thousand hectares and yielded
6442.5 thousand ton grains. It is extensively grown in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Prdesh and many other states. In U.P., Jowar is grown in Agra, Lucknow, Jhansi, Aligarh and Etawah
