Abstract
The Fairway oil field in Anderson and Henderson Counties, often described as a model example of present day oil and gas conservation in Texas, is well underway with a secondary recovery system by miscible drive techniques. The field, operated by Hunt Oil Co., was developed in the early 1960's, and each step from exploration to production, to unitization, and now to secondary recovery, has been carried out with a maximum amount of long range planning that is paying off with the predicted favorable results. Almost since discovery, operators have been working toward an eventual miscible drive recovery program. This early planning greatly simplified the equipment installation. Approximately 145 wells exist in the Fairway unit, some of which are due on triple completions with production from Glen Rose, Rodessa and Pettit limestone, as well as the unitized James lime. A discussion of equipment is presented for the injection headers, source water well system, the water pumping plant, gas injection compressors, and future injection plant development.
