Abstract

The need for safe disposal of hazardous waste is obvious. The role of the geologist in hazardous waste disposal is described. It consists in geological and hydrological investigations of the site to ensure that wastes have no opportunity to escape through hydrogeological defects. 5 figures. (RWR)
