Abstract
A method was proposed for the production of americium(IV) by oxidation of americium(III) with ammonium peroxydisulfate in solutions of phosphoric acid (less than 5 M). The influence of the concentration of ammonium peroxydisulfate, silver phosphate, phosphoric acid, and the time of oxidation on the yield of americium(IV) was studied.
