Abstract

Ziram 27 SC (0.25%), propiconazole 25 EC (0.1%) and carbendazim 50WP (0.1%) in combination with 2,4-D (10 ppm) were tested for their efficacy in managing the pathological and physiological fruit drop in Kinnow mandarin and compared with carbendazim 50WP (0.1%) as recommended check. Propiconazole + 2,4-D excelled over all the treatments and provided maximum control of fruit drop. The second best was Ziram + 2,4-D and was at par with propiconazole +2,4-D but differed significantly to carbendazim + 2,4-D and carbendazim alone. The fruit yield in Ziram + 2,4-D and propiconazole + 2,4-D was also at par but differed significantly to carbendazim + 2,4-D and carbendazim. Ziram + 2,4-D sprays were also more economical than other treatments. Therefore, Ziram + 2,4-D, propiconazole + 2,4-D and carbendazim + 2,4-D sprays were quite effective for managing fruit drop in Kinnow mandarin.
