Influence of grazing on community characteristics of alpine meadow.

The quadrat sampling method is used to analyze community characteristics of alpine meadow in Haibei area of Qinghai province.The results showed that the aerial biomass and species number gradually decreased and indexes of species diversity and evenness first increased and then decreased with increment of grazing intensity,the middle grazing raised the species diversity index compared with light grazing,and grazing intensity significantly influenced the ecological niches of high quality meadow.Therefore,the suitable grazing intensity and other measurements including replanting,harrowing and weeding et al.should be used in meadows with light and middle grazing intensity.Otherwise,the vegetation of meadows with higher grazing intensity should be recovered by decreasing grazing intensity,building artificial grassland and applying fertilizer.
