Abstract

Permian Orthotetoidea on Hydra belong to the generaCyndaliaGrant (1993a),GoniarinaCooper and Grant (1969),DerbyiaWaagen (1884),DiplanusStehli (1954),SchuchertellaGirty (1904),SiceliaMerla (1934), andTropidelasmaCooper and Grant (1969). Hydra has the most complete Permian section in the Western Tethys, 500 m thick and ranging in age from Asselian to Dorashamian. These are the youngest silicified Permian brachiopods west of China.
