Abstract
Highlighting the political and legal importance of the accession to the European Union, the author points to the three principles governing the relation between the legal order of the European Union and the national legal systems, the acts of the European Union, the principles underpinning the enforcement of the European Union law by national authorities and the autonomy of the member states when choosing the ways of applying the European Union law.
