Abstract
Field studies were conducted in Karnataka, India, to determine the temperature effects on the phenology and yield of chickpea cv. Annigeri-1. The treaments comprised 8 temperature regimes (sowing dates). Data were recorded on flower initiation, 50% flowering, pod initiation, physiological maturity, yield, minimum temperature (Tmin), maximum temperature (Tmax), temperature range (Trange) and growing degree days (GDD). Results showed that the Tmax and Tmin temperatures played major roles in enhancing the yield of chickpea and was independent of the sowing dates.
