Abstract
A review is given of the research, testing and development work on remote power systems carried out in Western Australia by the State Energy Commission and the Solar Energy Research Institute, between 1979 and 1986. Associated R and D at the University of Western Australia and Murdoch University is also-listed. Brief details are given of the results and conclusions are given on the types of system which appear to have economic prospects.
