Abstract
Companies take advantage of all measures available in order to maintain and increase their competitiveness. One of these methods is to exploit appropriately the potential represented by the employees which may guarantee the company significantly better economic results, provided this potential is channeled correctly. In every company, regardless of its size, its owner and employer desires the employees to provide support in gaining the defined business objectives. He/she tries to secure the employment and work conditions which are required by the binding legal regulation, expecting at the same time the personnel responsible for the human resource management to exploit the employees’ skills and abilities effectively. The human resource management is connected with conducting a systematic analysis, measurement and evaluation of the value creation process. This management also consists of monitoring, as well as focuses on minimizing any potential threats by means of assessing and estimating the risk value. Consequently, this shall result in the development of a system which prevents and minimizes the risk. A universal collection of risk areas does not exist. Their recognition will always depend on the auditor’s knowledge, the awareness of the objectives, and actions, the structure of a particular entity, the scope of employees’ responsibilities, as well as on the auditor’s intuition. The awareness of the fact that an effective risk management is one of the most fundamental elements of successful business is significant. Any business transaction is always burdened with a significant risk which constitutes a substantial threat for each company. By means of performing professional analysis, this risk can be assessed credibly, which then allows for the acceptance of the appropriate company development policy. An increasing number of companies take advantage of the services offered by specialists who can locate the risk areas related to business relations which originate, among others, from the financial situation of the company, the methods it applies in doing business, the business culture, the legislation, the political situation of the country in which this business is conducted. The aim of this paper is to prove that the human resource audit may be regarded as a tool for active and operational policy on the human resource management.
