Abstract
Patterns of corrosion problems related to tendon systems are analyzed based on the author's experience in evaluating over 50 corrosion related performance problems in prestressed concrete structures and in surveying prestressed concrete behavior. These relatively rare problems are often caused by very small initial savinggs in the overall cost of the structure or by poor execution of the works. Construction methods and details have been developed to minimize the recurrence of the types of problems which have occured in the past.
