A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2001–2002 on sandy loam soils of Tirupati with three chickpea varieties (ICCV-10, ICCV-2 and Annegiri-1) sown on four different dates (October 15, November 1, November 15 and December 1). The chickpea variety ICCV-10 recorded higher level of yield attributes and yield (475 kg ha−1). Among the four dates of sowing, November 1 sown crop recorded higher yield attributes and yield (579 kg ha−1).
