Abstract

A field trial comprising of twenty varieties/genotypes was conducted at Maize Research Station, S. D. Agricultural University, Khedbramha during two consecutive Kharif season 2008 and 2009. All the lines were kept under unsprayed condition. Based on pooled value results revealed that out of twenty lines, GM 2, PA 4212, Mukta, Suraj 740, PEMH 2 were found tolerant to stem borer, Chilo partellus with respect to stem borer damage and stem tunneling. Genotypes viz., GHY 0353, GHY 370, GHY 352, GHY 459 and GHY 462 were found highly susceptible and also recorded minimum yield of maize.
