Abstract
The paper presents the evolution of carbon fiber systems since 1991, including relevant tests for bridge engineering and their worldwide applications. Discussed are some of the reasons for strengthening of bridges, such as: corrosion of reinforcement; modified codes and standards; corrosion of prestressing cables; increased permanent and traffic loads; inadequate structural design; seismic retrofitting; and others.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
