Abstract

The purpose of study was to examine the relationship between work stress, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior, and person-organization fit as perceived by the students from the departments affiliated with physical education. Data was collected from the senior students because they have had a lot of exposure in the departmental environment. The available data were 419(93.1%) out of 450 students. Construct validity was proved by confirmatory factor analysis. According to the results from structural equation model, work stress had a statistically and negatively significant effect on organizational commitment and had a statistically and positively significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. On the other hand, there was no the relationship between work stress and person-organization fit. Organizational commitment was positively related with organizational citizenship behavior, and organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior both had a statistically and positively significant effect on person-organization fit each. Furthermore, organizational commitment partially mediated in the relationship between work stress and organizational citizenship behavior. In addition, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior had the significantly mediated effect in the relationship between work stress, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior, and person-organization fit.
