Participation of Citizens in Public Life in Nové Hrady

This case study is focused on the issue of participatory activities of citizens in the local political environment in the municipality of Nove Hrady. The aim of the study is to clarify the functioning of public administration in the selected town in terms of the participation of local citizens in public life activities. In particular, this means political participation at the local level, as well as the involvement of citizens in community life in the town. This paper deals with the activities of citizens during elections, their involvement in municipal bodies and participation in public affairs through political parties and independent associations. The paper further focuses on non-political forms of participation through civic associations and interest groups.
